Throughout the design development process, we have given careful consideration to our neighbours and through consultation with them, have developed the detailed design.
Despite the proximity between our site and Altitude Point, we have paid careful attention to the arrangement of our building to ensure no direct overlooking. The closest of any of our windows to the Altitude Point is upwards of 12m.
Because of the rounded corner of the building every window in Altitude Point that faces our building, at all levels, has an outlook where one can look past the building without impediment.
FORMER GERMAN SCHOOL BUILDING, APOSTLE LODGE AND GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH
One of the primary concerns of these residents and the church was overlooking of their courtyard and items falling from balconies/windows.
The building has been designed to have no balconies and no windows along this elevation, except windows for the stairwell. We are also proposing a blank wall up to the height of six storeys. This element has been designed to be a light coloured render in order to provide a reflective quality, as requested by residents and the church.
